“Taliban Afghanistan and Central Asia: Will the new regime in Afghanistan reshape the Central Asian regional dynamics for cooperation and security?”
The American University of Central Asia and Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, Representative Office Central Asia have signed the Project Agreement with a project fund of 23,953.85 EUR.
The main goal of the project “Taliban Afghanistan and Central Asia: Will the new regime in Afghanistan reshape the Central Asian regional dynamics for cooperation and security?” is to conduct an extensive study and discuss the ongoing dramatic developments in Taliban Afghanistan and their implications for Central Asian states through various angles within the framework of educational activities.
In the framework of this project, the Development Office will hold an international conference with the participation of regional and international experts and academic community, where the results of the study will be presented and discussed along with more expert contributions.
Vertex Technologies
On May 18th, Vertex Technologies held an applying tests for the students of Software Engineering and Applied Mathematics departments with the purpose of further potential employment. Subject tests were held for the position of intern-developer full-stack Ruby on Rails.
Vertex Technologies is an official partner of an American Company - Plainfield Technologies in terms of development of the web application based on Ruby in Rails technology, which is used to manage large infrastructural projects in California.

Fatima Khalil Human Rights Scholarship
We remind that the fundraising drive for the scholarship fund in memory of our alumna Fatima Khalil is ongoing!
Fatima double majored in Human rights and Anthropology and graduated in 2019. She was a very active student and a fierce advocate for human and women's rights. Fatima used to say : "We need respect, we need the freedom that belongs to us!" Upon graduation, she returned to Afghanistan, where she worked with the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission. Tragically, she was murdered by a car bomb in Kabul on June 27, 2020, while on her way to work.
We ask that you join us by contributing to the Fatima Khalil Human Rights Scholarship Fund. We are delighted to remind that the Open Society Foundation will match dollar for dollar up to $100,000 raised by AUCA for the Fatima Khalil Scholarship. The campaign is aimed to collect funds for the scholarship which will support extraordinary motivated students majoring in human rights and committed furthering women’s rights who is also very actively engaged in his/her community to advance these causes. We believe that it is people like Fatima, who with their brilliant minds, can bring peaceful change into the lives of those who need it the most.
