It's been nearly a year since the pandemic began - nearly a full year of milestones celebrated in masks, six feet apart or over Zoom.

Last February we launched our #HeartTheTeam campaign, where we invited individuals to share memories of transplant staff who stood out during their transplant experience. This year, showing our transplant (and broader healthcare) teams some love, takes on a whole new meaning. A big thank you to all of our colleagues who have continued to provide exceptional care to patients despite the uncertainty and fear brought on by the pandemic. Your tireless work does not go unnoticed.

Let's continue to celebrate frontline workers and our transplant team members whose ongoing efforts have kept our transplant patients safe and reassured. Find out how you can show our teams some love below.

Happy February!
The Centre Team

What's New

#HeartTheTeam
This February, we want to show our transplant teams some love! We'll be featuring a different transplant team member each week of February. If you'd like to nominate someone who stood out during your transplant journey, send us a message on social or email us at livingorgandonation@uhn.ca. Or, if you're a member of our transplant teams, share some of your favourite thank you messages.

Honour Someone Who Made a Difference
The Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation's 'Honour Your Hero' is a wonderful way to say thanks to an entire team or individual for the care, compassion and support you or your loved one received. Each hero will receive a certificate with your personal message and a commemorative pin at certain milestones.

New Episode of Living Transplant
Courtney and Brittany sit down with the hilarious Trevor Hanagan to discuss his journey to becoming a non-directed living kidney donor and his 16-year career with UHN security. With humour and vulnerability, Trevor discusses working security in hemodialysis, convincing his mother and partner that donating was a good idea, and the 'high' of the non-directed donor process.
