It’s midterms week, and we know you’re powering through those exams, projects and late-night study sessions. The good news? Spring break is just around the corner! Whether you’re heading home, traveling or just catching up on sleep, a well-deserved break is almost here.

In the meantime, we have stories to get you through the week. Check out this issue for information about EU Icons, a hidden hallway on campus and photos from Dude Night Revived. Plus, we’re talking spring break plans—because let’s be honest, that’s what’s really keeping us all going right now.

EU Icons brings talent and change from Spring Fling

At this time of the spring semester, Activities Board would typically be preparing for Spring Fling. However, this year AB has decided to switch things up by exchanging the variety show for a new event known as EU Icons.

College at Evangel offers more than classes. It offers community, growth and new experiences. The Achieve Program of Southwest Missouri at Evangel makes that possible for students with disabilities, offering them a chance to learn, work and connect with others. With peer mentors and real-world job training, Achieve students are doing more than just attending classes.

Evangel University hosted Dude Night Revived on Feb. 28, creating a space for men to connect through faith, wisdom and fellowship. The night featured worship and prayer, followed by a faculty and staff panel offering insight and encouragement. Attendees also enjoyed games and food, making for a well-rounded evening of growth and camaraderie.

There are many paths available to students as they go through college and ultimately into the workplace post graduation. Although students often imagine that their future will look a certain way, one professor’s story reminds us that sometimes God will lead people to places they never expected to end up.

Shelley Groves, associate professor of English, said, “I always knew I was called to ministry, but I knew it wasn’t going to be in a pulpit, and I was very confused by what that meant.” 
 
Accessibility Hallway Map

 
An accessibility corridor located in Trask provides a wheelchair lift to give students with disability greater access to the lecture halls of Trask 101 and 107. This hidden hallway connects Trask 101 and 107 with the main hallway in Trask. This accessibility corridor is one of the ways Evangel University strives to ensure that all students are included and have equal access across campus.

Survey reveals Evangel's spring break trends

Students at Evangel have a variety of plans this spring break. From the students surveyed, the freshman class has the highest group traveling home for the week. The junior class showed an opposite trend with many of them planning to stay on campus. Several of these students are staying in town because of athletics or their jobs. Only a few Evangel students plan to take a vacation this week.

Maddy Meierer

Over the last week, Maddy Meierer has led the Lady Valor Softball team from the mound, pitching 14 innings with 16 strikeouts and allowing 0 runs. These games gave her a 9-1 record from the mound and lowered her earned run average to 0.37. The Lady Valor return to the field Saturday at 1 p.m. in Lindsborg, Kansas facing Bethany College.
