The NIFA-sponsored Governor’s Agricultural Excellence Awards reward 4-H Clubs, in part, for student and Club development while possibly preparing them for a career in agriculture.
There is no shortage of technology in today’s agricultural landscape and both the Nbots and Funny Bunnies 4-H Clubs are excelling in this area. Hailing from Lancaster County, these Clubs are interested in technology, programming, teamwork, and the future.
These youth have to think fast and respond quickly, applying math and science concepts to robotic challenges while working together as a team. We applaud these exemplary 4-H Clubs!
An update on the season: Both teams did very well at the Bellevue qualifier. Our older team, Funny Bunnies, was awarded the Inspiration Award and qualified for the state meet, which was held February 22nd. I thought they did a great job at state. They placed 12th out of 56 teams in Robot Game. They were also voted Best Dressed by their peers (everyone loved the bunny ears!) and were again awarded the Inspiration Award. The Inspiration Award "celebrates a team that is empowered by their FIRST LEGO League experience and displays extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit." -Cathy Babcock - 4-H Council Member
