Love. Courage. Determination. Hope. Bravery. Devotion. Strength. Dedication.
These are some of the words that come to mind when we think of living organ donation.
From the strength, bravery and hope for those waiting for an organ transplant, to the love, courage and determination of living donors, to the expert care and dedication of Team Transplant.
We come together this month for Living Donation Week, September 10-16 to celebrate everyone who makes living donation possible and inspire those currently waiting for a transplant and everyone around them to explore the lifesaving gift of living donation.
Join us in sharing gratitude, hope, light, education and information. To view all events happening for Living Donation Week, visit http://givelifeuhn.eventbrite.ca
We look forward to hearing your stories and celebrating with you.

Marie-Pierre Schryburt who lives with utosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD), received a kidney transplant from her cousin!. She shares her story.
Once again, Health Canada recognized September 4th as National Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Awareness Day - a special day devoted to raising awareness of this life-threatening, genetic disease. Though PKD affects thousands in Canada and millions worldwide, many people have never heard of it. Together, we can change this!
#PKDAwarenessDay is our day to raise awareness about this disease, and the devastating impact it has on generation after generation. This year we had a very enheartening response from communities across Canada, recognizing PKD Awareness Day through more than 60 proclamations, 29 flag raisings, and the lighting of more than 25 landmarks with the colour teal for PKD.
