Foot traffic in office buildings nationwide increased by 18.6% in February compared to the same month last year, according to
Placer.ai data. While still down 31.3% from February 2020, the gap has narrowed. Miami and New York are leading the return-to-office movement, with visits down only single digits compared to 2020. Some companies, like Boeing and UPS, have mandated employees to return to the office five days a week, while others such as IBM, Google, and JPMorgan Chase are cracking down on hybrid work mandates. However, a significant increase in full-time in-office policies is unlikely, as 27% of U.S. CEOs are focused on maintaining hybrid work.
