New Year, New Opportunity

Good morning everyone,

I'm back to start off the new year with my favorite episode highlighting Entrepreneurs in the Brewing and Barber Industry it also happens to have my favorite USAA Tip of the Week on Life Insurance in there as well! I also am excited to announce our first guest editor of the new year will be Justin Mendoza, who heads up the Veteran Hiring Team at Quicken Loans. As the Team Leader, he is responsible for Military and Veteran hiring initiatives such as the Tour of Duty Program. Justin is an Air Force veteran and will be giving us his insights into what he sees the career landscape looking like for transitioning military and spouses in the new year. I'm looking forward to it and I hope you will all tune back in next week to hear his thoughts!

I hope 2018 is off to a good start for everyone. I know my resolution is to take better care of myself, easier said than done. I feel like many of us, veterans and spouses, don't take care of ourselves as much as we should. We tend to be very mission focused and the mission ALWAYS comes first. As 2017 started coming to a close all of a sudden I realized who will take care of the mission at hand if we aren't healthy enough to do it? More to follow on this, but I would love to hear your thoughts and stories about learning to take time to take care of yourself during your transition.
