Video: H-IIA launches third Quasi-Zenith Satellite for Japan
Japan’s H-IIA rocket, flying in its 204 configuration with four boosters, lifted off from the Tanegashima Space Center at 5:29:00 UTC on August 19, 2017 on a 29-minute ascent mission into Geostationary Transfer Orbit with the third Quasi-Zenith Satellite. Also called Michibiki-3, the 4,700-Kilogram satellite received a smooth ride and is set to become the sole geostationary member of the QZSS constellation that supplements GPS navigation coverage over Japan and delivers GPS augmentation to the Asia-Pacific Region for precise positioning services in aviation and other areas.
