My favourite author or book
I’m terrible at picking favourites, but I recently read The Book of Night Women by Marlon James and it really stuck with me. It’s a story about a group of women planning an uprising on a Jamaican slave plantation. The whole story is written in patois, but after a chapter or two, the language becomes so easy and creates an incredibly immersive read.

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. It’s pretty extraordinary and so vivid. Read it.
The book I wish I had written
The Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. I need to reread it because it’s a big read, but it’s just such a great exploration of racism and where to stand within the cause as
