I have all these frames I got from some friends and I have been playing with how to use them in fun ways. Here is one where I turned them into a pair of wall decor art pieces for the kitchen, with a farmhouse rustic feel. Add a little paint, some scrapbook papers, washi tape, spoon, fork, and some cork pieces and you are all set to make a one of a kind kitchen decor piece with a country chic vibe.
Star with a couple of 5x7 frames, out can get these from old ones in your closet, at a garage sale, from a friend, cheap ones at the dollar store, resale shop.... these things are everywhere!!! Some fun scrapbook paper on the colors you like, a spoon, and fork!
Paint up your frames, I choose Ivory in a good acrylic paint to give them a light fresh feeling. It takes a couple of coats and some drying time, but the bonus is you do not have to be perfect pant lines and patchy spots are great for a rustic look!
Paint your spoon and fork. I did it in black so they would jump off the background better.
Sand the frames down to make them look rustic, perfect for a farmhouse feel! Don't forget to sand up the fork and spoon too! Cut the scrapbook paper to fit into the back of the frame and set it in place.
Glue in your spoon and fork, add in embellishments (mine are in cork with a stick back I added with Xyron adhesive), a little rope bow and you are set for a fun farmhouse kitchen country chic decor set!
Here is a video tutorial on how to make this cute pair of farmhouse kitchen decor.
These rustic country chic wall art frames are perfect for the farmhouse kitchen. They can be made in any color scheme you wish, so have fun with it!! You can even do a trio with a knife!
