With Holocaust Remembrance Day right around the corner (Monday, April 24th) we thought we would preview an up coming series by WAA staff reporter Susan Patten.
As Susan explained, "Wreaths Across America has had the distinct honor and privilege of meeting 91-year-old Holocaust survivor Luna Kaufman. In learning of our mission statement to remember, honor, and teach and of the Wreaths Across America Museum Luna offered to spend some quality time with us so that we could tell her story as it relates to our mission. In the summer of 2016, Luna joined WAA in Maine for the dedication of the Liberator Tree, and in October we visited with Luna at her home in Manhattan. During that time we were able to introduce Luna with World War II Liberator Thurman Pace."
Monday, April 24 is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. In our website blog Wreaths Across America will release the first installment of Luna's Life of Tolerance, Understanding, and Peace; A Gift to Us All.
"We are not put on this earth for ourselves but are placed here for each other. If you are there always for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you."
Nicole says she's thankful for those fellow Location Coordinators who have helped her and she's honored to provide the same support to those who might be thinking about starting a Wreaths Across America ceremony in their community cemetery.
