CEO's Update

Dear All,

SimulationWeek is drawing to a close and I personally would like to thank everybody who participated.

We have had a remarkable response and not just from our own local communities but from around the world. Stories have poured in covering an incredibly diverse range of simulation, modelling, training and decision support capabilities. You can view the full range of stories at www.simulationweek.com.

The media covered The Minister for Innovation, Hon Kyam Maher MLC, launching a new industry push "Software & Simulation" in South Australia, we have had stories on new innovations, lifesaving and heroism, finance, natural disasters, climate change, deep sea drilling, amazing visual techniques, the variation has been astounding.

To complement the Simulation Australasia website we introduced the #simaust and #simweek hashtags and were able to significantly grow our Twitter audience and engagement. Our LinkedIn page also lifted in profile providing the business community with a greater understanding of Simulation Australasia's scope of activities, the combined social and traditional media increase in presence has been excellent and reinforced exactly what we thought. That is, just how many terrific stories can be generated across the breadth of our sectors and just how many people not connected with simulation are really interested!

It didn't take much discussion to decide we should have a permanent way to promote these great stories. From next week we will have on the front page of www.simulationaustralasia.com a dedicated panel featuring stories from our members. You may have also noticed that our reinvigorated Twitter feed on the front page has grown exponentially with the #simaust hashtag.

Both the Twitter feed and our new Member SimStories section are for you to use promote the great work that you are doing and they are completely free to our members.

We have modelled the interest of the wider community in simulation and they say it is positive, let's keep the great work going.

If you need help on how to load your story or a quick guide to Twitter or LinkedIn our Marketing Manager Chloe Wagemaker is ready to assist - please contact her on chloe@simaust.com

Thank you all again for such a great response to SimulationWeek 2015.

Regards,
