Sexy Laundry has made its UK debut at the Tabard Theatre Chiswick. For those debating buying a ticket, I would advise booking straight away for nearly 80 minutes of laughter. This is not to say that the play is without it's emotional moments as it looks at the trials and tribulations of marriage. However, for the most part, the play truly is comedy at it's best.

The actors had the audience laughing before the stage lights had completely brightened, setting the tone for what was to be a highly amusing play.

The play follows a married couple's attempt to save their failing marriage and sex life - we meet Alice and Henry as they are starting their weekend away and trying to get to grips with a sex book that is supposed to solve all of their troubles. The audience quickly realise that the couple are in fact on different pages.

The acting is brilliant as the two actors are believable as a couple facing marital troubles. Although the premise of the play is quite simple, audience members are kept gripped throughout. As mentioned, it is of course a humorous play but it does leave audience members with something to think about.

The venue is, as many reading this already know, extremely intimate, making the perfect setting for a play set in just one simple location. That iis not to dismiss the intricate details of the trendy hotel room - which also work to provide much of the comedy.

All in all, this is the perfect way to spend an evening.

Sexy Laundry is showing now, until 25th November.

Tickets retail at £23 or £18 concession. See http://tabardtheatre.co.uk/whats-on for more.
